		| | Nice shot using Ext Tubes. It's not easy. Good background and composition. A bit OE.
Herman, the DPC "specific rules" of Wildlife V is incorrect. Your shot is perfectly valid despite voters being misled by the "purpose of this competition". You could have photographed a mushroom in the forest and that would have been valid too. It should not then be called a "Wildlife" challenge but rather a "Mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians" challenge! Unfortunately I learnt this the hard way. Take the challenge literally. Photograph a mammal, bird, reptile or a frog. Voters here are too literal and by voting you down are themselves not following the Voting Rules: "...You may not: give an entry a lower score because you believe it violates the Challenge Rules."

Wikipedia (USA): "Wildlife includes all non-domesticated plants, animals and other organisms." Insects are deemed members of the animal kingdom

Britannica (UK): "...living things and especially mammals, birds, and fishes that are neither human nor domesticated"

Collins Dictionary (UK): "wild animals and plants collectively" "You can use wildlife to refer to animals and other living things that live in the wild."

The Free Dictionary (USA): "Wild animals and vegetation, especially animals living in a natural, undomesticated state."

		| | "For the purpose of this challenge, "wildlife" should be considered non-domesticated mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians living in a natural environment."
Nice bug shot, but as per the above it doesn't include insects. Therefore I'm saying this does not meet the challenge. Sorry.

		| | The way the blurry orange in the background spotlights this little guy really makes this work, great contrasting colors |

		| | The background light is nicely positioned. I would prefer the eye in sharper focus. And ... it's a bug. Not what the challenge called for. |

		| | The composition and background are just wonderful. One of my favorites from the challenge. I hope you get the votes you deserve for this, just afraid people will vote down insect photos. |
