Take in the Florida Keys Bahia Honda Key Bridge built in 1912. After the Hurricane in 1935 the State of Florida purchased it and converted the tussle bridge for the use of cars in 1938. It remained in use until 1972 and is now in disrepair...

This is a strange thing to see. The road bed was added to the old RR trestle left over from the Overseas Railway after the '35 hurricane. They added structure above the RR and put the road surface on top of that. It's falling into the water now, a piece at a time. The "spalling" of the concrete is from the rebar rusting inside the concrete, because they mixed the concrete with salt water when the bridge was built. It makes the concrete pop open like that.
This is a marvelous location for vacationing. It's about 40 miles from Ke West and has a nice anchorage (anchored there before,) good campground and award winning beaches with beautiful water.

Ok. I know we just saw this one in the challenge, but I really thought this should have done better. It is such an interesting subject with a great perspective. I gave it a 9.

This is great. The colors and composition are perfect. My only criticism would be the strands coming off the right side of the bridge have a sharpening halo. Good stuff.

It would be amazing to have access to that part of the bridge! What an awesome place for photography
