 Clever, original, brilliant? I guess not but I kind of like it :-)

Discarded old garden shears that had found their way into my prop box. I was going to do a close-up of the geared mechanisms (refer to the challenge outtakes if I get the chance to post), but while studying it for the best angle I saw the face of a dog. I know this has nothing to do with the challenge so I didn't try and emphasise this with the shot and only hinted at it with the title.

I haven’t got any external flashes, soft-boxes etc, yet, and the camera popup flash and I don’t get along very well. So, this was shot using minimal natural light and a tungsten torch. I like the result, but then I’m easily impressed.

looks like some kind of weird fish head ;-) my first though upon seeing this image - I like this image though, you handled the lighting well I think and the solid black background highlights your subject
