This photo is of the 4th street level's hardwood floor at Seattle's new Central Library downtown. The building was designed by Rem Koolhaas and is absolutely incredible, both inside and out. This hardwood floor has phrases spelled backwards in every imaginable language.

I used auto-levels, desaturated, resized and re-did the levels a bit to get the ethereal B&W effect. The sheen exists as shown in the original photo.

If you come to Seattle, stop here and spend a couple hours shooting, it's truly a marvel.

I like this, the angle is good, and I like the lights on the surface also.

I like this, but why is everything backwards?

Typeface? or just reversed? Anyway, I like that it's backwards, it's not distracting-- It kkeps you from getting distracted by words/phrases that aren't important to your composition. Nice texture, too.

Is this a mirror image? All the phrases are backwards. Interesting.

Need to find more uniform lighting. Not sure this meets the challenge, since you just took a picture of someone else's art.

This looks like the floor of the new Seattle Library, I thought of that, but didn't make it down there. I would have gotten closer to the floor to show more texture and maybe avoided the harsh glare. Good idea for this challenge.
