I've been experimenting lately with improvised optics. This was taken with a homemade lens. The lens is made from two rolls of toilet paper with a piece of plastic (Fresnel) magnifier duct taped to one end. The two cardboard rolls are nested to enable a very crude means of focusing by scoping them in or out. As luck would have it, the paper roll fits snugly in the lens mount of Olympus E-520.
The results are crude and probably won't appeal to the masses (I'm guessing this browned). But there's something very satisfying about creating your own optical device and getting results that render anything at all. The images feel much more personal than what you get from serious glass. Anyway, I thought I'd share.
