Three Tiger Swallowtails, aimlessly flitting around on a breeze for a few moments. I always enjoy their beauty as they float and flutter and go about their butterfly business. Butterflies in the sky and a few puffy clouds ... says lazy summer day to me :-) Makes me wonder what it's like to be them at that moment.

Title is from a poem apparently used at some memorial services when butterflies are released as symbols of a person's spirit rising to heaven.

PP - cropped, duotone, increased contrast, resized, sharpened, added border.

Very nice capture Mary. These guys move about so erratically that it's amazing that you were able to keep them in focus.

Not a fan of the "flat grays" but this is very magical. 7

The butterflies are unbelievably sharp. Too bad about the cloud just behind them, but I guess that was not in your power ;).

Oh my WORD! HOW did you get this shot?! It's fabulous! And perfect for the challenge.

A bit of odd noise in the sky.... but wow! (not voting)

This is a great concept, but unfortunately the butterflies don't look quite real - especially the one on the bottom.
