 What a hard choice to make for this challenge! I had 4 or 5 potential entries. But, my daughter helped to talk me through all the high and low points of all my potentials. Even if this image doesn't do well, I love it and am happy with the outcome. I am learning more about an artful editing style and this image shows some of what I want to explore.


Post challenge:
The subject is a Bristle Cone pine which can live to the ripe age of 2000+ years. I estimate that this tree is in the range of 1000 to 1200 years old based on its size compared to the older age trees that have died and the growth rings counted. A very fun subject for sure.

Great subject. I could see some halo-ing around the trunk and leaves, which could have been a result of selective dodging and burning.

I like this! Definitely affected by the weather/wind, and seems to be the only survivor of many storms.
