(1) COMPOSITION (CONTENT) - Very good. The subject is very relevant, and some version of this is always front-page news. The central figure certainly shows the emotion which is present with this subject. I like the slight blur on the hand – shows action and emotion.
(2) BACKGROUND – two things hit me, perhaps both out of your control. First, the sky is overly bright. Probably a cloudy day with high overcast. Second, the man and woman just left of the elbow are smiling. Bad form for an emotional rally. Perhaps a shot a minute later would have found them unsmiling. On the other hand, I like the cropping – gives a good feeling of a crowd.
(3) CAMERA WORK ,TECHNICAL – Focus and DOF look very good to me . No recommended changes.
(4) DIGITAL PROCESSING ,TECHNICAL – For the challenge, no recommended changes. For publishing, I’d try to darken the sky a tad.
(5) MY OPINION ON THE PHOTO – When I first saw this photo, I thought – “front page”. It was made by the centered man who is yelling, and the subject.

Thanks to those of you who voted. This photo exhibited a lot of emotion. It is quite thrilling to attend a political exhibition as such. There are many different humanistic and atmospheric emotions that one can capture at such an event. I plan to continue and suggest ya’ll to try it as well if you haven’t already.

Great catch. The exposure seems a little off to me - sky and sign blend together, yet there is a bit of blue sky in the upper right corner.

Very photo journalistic :) I like it. Really conveys the emotions strongly. Jacko. 9

Nicely captures the emtions of the central figure seemingly shouting right into the camera. All the crowd seem to be converging on him too although it seems slightly out of place to have this angry central character and at least two smiling faces immediately to his right!

Good piece of photojournalism!

An excellent photograph -- definitely a winner. Full of captured emotion and perfectly crisp and clear. This is a stand-out submission. muckpond

Your singular title puzzled me until the photo finished scrolling down. But, you are right - only the one !man in the middle, and maybe the man in the bottom left corner, is the only one who seems to be fired up about this. And he has great emotion showing on his face. The man and woman behind him seem to be having a good fun time. The others seem uninvolved, just there. If you look at the man in the lower left corner you'll see his head is turned more downward and his eyebrow and forhead show no emotion, only has his hand raised in support. Maybe your title fits your picture more than you realized - singular. Good photo. Nice job. PTL6

Great photojournalism shot. I can feel the pulse of the crowd.

I think this is the best photo out of all the entries. It captures the moment very well and the surroundings give you all the information you need to determine what they are there for. Well captured.

the light's hitting the guy in the center just perfect, you caught him at just the right time, too bad to get the faces you gotta light meter the sky out of the picture. fits the challenge to a tee, way to go out somewhere exciting, make a picture happen.

are you sure this wasn't really on the front page?! great shot...especially like the compositional angle with the sign, traffic light, and big guy in the offset 'middle'. also like the motion in upraised hand. excellent interpretation of challenge. (10) ~mcmurma

Great job capturing an actual news event (unless of course you went to GREAT lengths to stage it!).

lots of impact.. this one took courage to get close enough to take..... potential to be a top 20 pic this week.. the only flaw is the blurred arm of the man in the middle.... a faster shutter speed would have caught his arm in stop motion and there would be no blur...

Most "photojournalistic" pic so far. The man in the middle really makes this one good.
