Hi Tracy!

FIRST IMPRESSION:
Cool shot, love it in sepia!

COMPOSITION:
You managed to capture all of the elements important to this photo, but I think you captured one too many, and that's the hood of the car. I love the bridge, but am not too crazy about the angle it sits at...or the fact that it 'frames' the road and cars in an odd shape.

TECHNICAL:
Focus is pretty good, natural light works nicely to bring out shapes, and definition on the bridge. That one bright light in the middle of the 'gridlock' is a bit distracting, but I sure there wasn't much you could do about that (or maybe wait until that car got through). DOF is good and shows the line of cars far ahead.

ARTISTIC:
I really like the use of sepia on this shot, it makes it look like something you'd find in a newspaper...not sure about the front page. Alot more cars, on both sides of the road, would have made more of an impact.

OVERALL:
I nice shot with a nice look-feel to it...I gave you a 7

:)

This shot works really well in sepia. I'm certain that if it were in color, there'd be way too much going on and too many colors for me to appreciate the great shapes and tones you've captured.

Very nice place to get in a traffic jam. Love the color or black and white. Sonifo Vote 7

looks like a funeral to me

The overpass here is the real star of the show. It looks like a lovely old structure. As for gridlock...well the picture doesn't really convey that. It looks like it's moving. I like this picture, and love how you handled the coloring. The scene just looks too charming to convey the tension of gridlock. Grayce

Color would have made more impact here. Gridlock? The road above is empty and the lane coming at you is not that full. To me "gridlock" means nothing moving because no room to move anywhere, Color would have shown their tail lights on. In B&W they don't appear to be lit showing traffic stopped. Just my thoughts and feeling on gridlock, like we get in Atlanta, Ga. Otherwise the picture is a good photo - good cropping, focus, dof, etc. Just poor execution. PTL5

Yup, and black and white helps it here.

Cropping out the hood of the car would have helped this out. muckpond

A scene I know all too well. Works nicely in sepia, and is well composed, but I'd rather not see the hood of your truck.

howdy, neighbor. nice job framing the bridge. is your windshield really that clean? focus sharp enough to see the individual stones on the bridge, nice. only say this because i drive here too but please don't take too many pictures while driving its bad enough with the cell phones. and good call making it black and white, eight for you.

Man that headlight kills this shot for me. Still better than most.

put some effort in it, get out of the car and shoot a long cool angle
