Well, this is last minute. Most likely won't due good because of it. My 13 old son gave me suggestions on what he would like to see. I figured, why not. This most likely will be the last photo I enter with my Olympus Evolt500 for awhile since my Nikon D300s came in and I want to learn with it. I needed to get something in since I signed up for the Free Study marathon.

It looks so alive & thrumming with energy & just look at the light you've captured. Not to mention the color. The details of the petal tips hold my attention, it's a visual mystery I can't resolve. I halfway expect to see it breathe right here on my screen. For excellence in flower photography, for illustrating the abiding mystery that you can find any day in your own garden, I humbly offer my admiration & the Gilded Lily.

I feel the focus should have been on the emergence and not so much on the shell. 5.
