Too noisy , saturated and not well focused. With more effort it could became a good photograph.

Nope, looking at it from a distance didn't really help. The midtone colors are nice, but there is too much contrast and the highlights and shadows seem to extreme for this image.

Even with the title explanation, I do not understand what it is I am looking at other than a brownish blob, sorry.

Additional comments:
Now that I know what it is I am viewing, I can barely make out individual crystals of sugar. I still see evidence of compression and/or grain and noise from a high ISO setting.

I like the color and crystaline structure. If I look at it from a distance, it's like looking up at the sun through fall folliage. To me though, the overall effect is noisy. I think you tried to help with the title, but it seems like you tried to stretch a so so photo with the title. Lots of threads talk about how the photo should stand alone and that the title won't make the photo. If I find myself agonizing too much over a title I try to stop short and ask myself whether the photo is capable of standing on its own.

I usually hate titles that has explanations in it, but this one was funny it made me stand up :) yeah kinda looks like gold from one meter away hehe, I think its a good background picture, could be a bit sharper mabey, but the light and dark make for a good picture to use in design, doesnt hold up much interest on its own, especially since you cant really tell what it is, But you told me its brown sugar :) Good luck :)
