Shot a hundred of these til I figured out I needed a mirror to reflect sunlight into the ring. The effect is subtle, but the slight shimmer in the ring makes the shot. We'll see, I suppose.
The ring was placed over the center petals of a flower. The flower was a very deep purple that I thought over powered the ring a bit. Hence the Black White conversion.
Post processing: RAW conversion-Contrast, Saturation, sharpess adjustments in DPP; Elements adjustments-Unsharp Mask, Slight Levels Adjustment, B&W conversion, then web sharpened with unsharp mask again.
