Great shot except the buildings seem out of focus...

Nice scene; however needs better focus

My eyes are drawn to the slightly OOF buildings instead of the bar in the foreground. I feel this could benefit from a higher F-stop to lend more depth of field to the image.

You denoted the entrance well with the gate across the canal. The canal wall and the bollards are leading your eye down the canal but there is the horizontal bar across the picture closing down access. It's kind of unique in composition that way because my eyes want to follow the leading lines into the background but they keep hitting the gate and coming back into the foreground.

I like the line of the buildings in the background with the varied roof structures and windows creating interesting patterns and rhythm.

The gate is really sharp and crisp, but the sharpness seems to fall off into the background. Overall there are rich colors due to good exposure.

The focus just being on the barrier I think kills the shot. I'm drawn in by the varying homes, but they're in soft focus. I think if the focuses were swapped, I would have liked the photo more.
