 The Bateleur (Terathopius ecaudatus) is a medium-sized eagle in the bird family Accipitridae which also includes many other diurnal raptors such as buzzards, kites and harriers.

It is the only member of the genus Terathopius and probably the origin of the "Zimbabwe bird", national emblem of Zimbabwe. In some countries, the Bateleur is occasionally known as the "Conifer Eagle" or even "Pine Eagle", since its feathers somewhat resemble a conifer cone when it fluffs itself up

Nice portrait of an interesting bird (it's not a hawk, eagle, or chickadee). :-) Nice color and good control of the exposure. Good luck in the challenge.

Super shot. If looks could kill. Was recently at rehab centre where they have many of these. Awesome bird and king of the sky. Well doen on this take and portrait. pity about background a little dark making the bird blend a bit to much into this on the blacks.
