Capturing the moment of the bat impacting the baseball in a high-school baseball game. This went for a double over the left-fielders head. Shot through a chain-link fence. Processed in photoshop:
- crop and straighten
- Levels adjustment layer
- curves adjustment layer
- flatten image
- resize to 800 pixels wide using bicubic sharpen
- unsharpen mask 85%, radius=1, threshold=8
- save as jpg

I didn't mind the slight blur in the ball and bat, since it conveys motion while freezing enough of the action to make this fit the challenge. Btw, this was the only one of the shots I voted an 8 or higher not to make the top 20.

What a great capture! What I would have done is cropted this to more ofa portrate to remove the catcher and and the warm-up batter to remove these distractions. But that's me and if you look at my challenge scores you may be better off ignoring me. The tones, focus and speed are spot on so it's an 8 from me. Good luck.

Ok, so the bat isn't 100% stopped, but that's pretty darn close. Love the baseball shots and this was my favorite of the baseball shots. 9 from me.
