Alternate title is "Int Softboard Technologies, San Diego, CA, USA" as that is what is written on the board itself. Not sure whether it is because it is a softboard or not, but this was not leashed. The owner had to come all the way in to retrieve it when it got away from him. And I can see this in a catalog. Can you?

Shot from where we were eating lunch on the pier, 1/3 stop underexposed; cropped a bit of the right and bottom of the frame off, converted using Nik Silver Efex.

Oh, and yes I am well aware that this will bomb. :-)

Jeesh. Just an alternate view of a product catalog entry, not the second coming of the archnemesis of Superman or anything.

:-)

I'm sure this will be old news by the time the challenge ends, but the idea was to have a catalog of abstracts - stuff you might hang on your wall. But of course we can't shoot pictures of pictures, so we in essence created those abstracts. Does that make sense? No?

I still think this would work as something to hang on the wall of a bar on the ocean; or perhaps even as an ad for the softboard. Good thing I am not in catalog design, isn't it?

I think for surfers if it doesn't have wax it's not worth the ride. These soft boards are frowned upon by experienced surfers and usually rented by beginners. Is DPC a wave riding community? Probably not. Your outside the box thinking hurt you here. Nothing wrong with that!

I have a Cannondale 2010 bike catalog that looks this dirty and grungy. Unfortunately I only have the catalog, not the bike. But my feet are wet and my suit is too tight.

I see he had to chime in twice. Just in case you did not understand his first cut and paste comment. I pity the fool who uses the comment section to make themselves feel so superior.

I'm glad to see that others did take the time to look and see what you presented. It's definitely worth multiple reviews :)

Hey Deb, I just liked the image. I Wasn't sold on the 'abstract catalog' thing but the image is compelling and would do well in the environment that you described.

Pssh I thought this was one was really good, my favourite of all the abstracts and one of my highest rated pictures. It's a shame that so many people voted 1 because of the title.

Hey Deb, Great shot, I enjoy looking at it on the page next to mine!! I can feel the movement. It works really well in Black and White.

You are the dpc queen of the insurrection, with an anonymous speedy exit.

Cunning foam, cunning board tip, I wanted to say.

I love that the board is sliding out of the frame. The rumbling water pulls me back into the shot. I like it!

I do see a product here. So what's the problem?

This is great. And so perfect in black and white.

Not sure how I feel about this one. Ok, it's interesting but not one of my favorites.

WOW, what a great idea--product shots for a catalog of abstract art! I love it!

I have voted 8 on most of the abstract catalog entries including this one. Four of them I thought were stunning abstracts so I gave them 10s.

I understand that some people are upset about this set of entries. One of the important functions of contemporary art is to raise issues and push boundaries. This often gets people upset. Hang in there!

This is quite good, plenty of texture and mystery. Cleary an advertisement for an ankle leash...don't want to lose your ride! (no vote)

This is the third picture of "Spring Catalogue" I have seen. Did you collude with each other? lol
