Shot for another school project. She's one of a series of six girls, all who are turning into something, and half of whom love/appreciate the change and half of whom hate or are disgusted by the change. She, of course, is turning into nature. Yes, those are live meal worms. There are some live crickets in her hair too, but those are harder to see. She was such a great sport with all the bugs!

This is the biggest shoot I've organized by myself so far--6 models, 4 hair/makeup people, and everything finished in under 4.5 hours! I was rather pleased with the results. Everyone else is the studio building was very intrigued by the bugs (and horrified when I stuck them in the fridge to calm them down!).

Very simple edit: lighten and sharpen, then resize and save!

I know the branch is nowhere near being the focus of this shot, but I'm hoping its current presence will be enough to get me a nice 6+ score!

[b]Greetings from the Critique Club!

While I think it's a great portrait I think that the lack of a branch as the focal point hurt you. I only voted on about a quarter of the entries so didn't get to yours. I would have given you a 6 though. I viewed your portrait as Mother Nature branching out from the earth.

There isn't much you can do to improve this image, it's pretty solid the way it is. You received comments about making the eyes pop and makeup missing on the right side. Personally I didn't notice the missing makeup and it doesn't make a big difference.

As I mentioned the only reason you scored lower than you expected is because not much branch here. Especially since viewers kept seeing pictures of trees.

Love your work and can't wait to see more challenge entries!

For Advanced editing... her eyes need to POP! They're a bit lackluster, IMHO. (not voting)

Creepy but cool. I like the makeup on the chest and face, but the right side doesn't have any and it feels a little off balance to me. Overall it is a great shot.
