I don't know this man, and he would not talk to me. But he handed me a card which only said "Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jason G. Defrenn, February 2, 2007."

When I got home, I found him on the internet

What a great story. I love that you included the extra info, but the scene you captured makes me want to learn even more. Thanks for sharing!

Both the character study (photo), and the links, are interesting stories. Makes me want to know more about both. Great!

Thank you for this picture!!!! I read the articles about CW2 Defrenn that you had on your comments on this photo. I have personally served 2 tours in Iraq and have had several friends die in the line of duty. I hate that he had to leave a wife and new born baby that will never know him. He is in a better place now and I am sure that he is looking down on his family with many smiles.

Normally, I would say that a picture should stand without a title or story. In this case, however that is completely wrong. The story (and link) gives so much more depth to what it is really all about. Thank you for shooting and sharing.

This is a nice news photo. It is more powerful with an article.

thank you Robert! I knew it would not score particularly well, but I had to enter it, if just for spreading the message

Oh My! This makes me remember the night we sat up on Christmas Eve and set those little things up all over the living room. What a head ache, but it was a grand success the next morning. :-)
