 With all the snow there is not a lot to see in the garden this time of year but I love this old garden lantern so it became the subject. I took some shots of it then came into the house, looked at the shots on the computer and did not like the back ground so went back out to shoot some more. Unfortunately the nice snow covering that was on top of the lantern (about 2 inches) when I took the initial shots had almost completely melted off.

Very little editing done to this image, adjusted curves slightly, contrast slightly, Neat Imaged and sharpened, saved to web. I used an off camera flash set to the left just off the ground with a diffuser to help fill the underside of the lantern, using an off camera flash is fairly new to me but seemed to work fairly well on this one.

I have that same lantern ... if I hadn't put it in the garage it would be buried in snow! Don't you just love the rustiness?!
