You're right of course! Some may penalize you for being so.........um.......primitive. Not me. I like the idea. In a book of technology sticks and stones should be included. About this photo, the lighting is a little harsh and makes it look sort of flat, no shadows and highlights. Side lighting, either earlier or later in the day, when the sun is low in the sky would attain the shadows to give it depth, and the colors would be a little more saturated. There are some russets, and greens, and browns and greys in here. Less light would bring them out.
Good luck in the challenge. Grayce :-)

I like the variety of texture annd shape and the composition here. Also, the muted colours and tonal range are excellent. Very good.

I can noit tell. Which stick is it that is stoned.

While this is a fine picture of driftwood, it doesn't capture my attention well. I was tempted to do a photo of spear tips or "cobble choppers" myself, but didn't want to suffer another week of "did not meet the challenge" comments. This is even more of an obsure reference. Half of score for braveness to submit this! 5 Swash

I think the composition could have been improved by thinking about the arrangement of the items in shot. Could be a little sharper too.

I can't believe what I'm seeing this time around, but it is very encouraging. We all need a good laugh about now. And it's being done with such technically correctness in focus, cropping, color, composition, subject. It's about perfect. Closen enough anyway. I'm happy with this. PTL

It actually all started way before that... I'm not doing a good job of fitting this photo to the challenge... - setzler

Good concept. All you need now are some neanderthal teenagers.Just my humble opinion...but what do you think of more dark, mysterious spotlighting and some human shadow movement or flickering flames? just some ideas...Bullwinkle

As a picture, the composition is good, and the focus, lighting, etc is also good. I like the interpretation of the challenge, but it is missing something with overall effect. I'm not sure what, though, it just doesn't grab me. karmat

That is not technology. That is sticks and mud and stones
