I get the sense he is remembering the war. Probably sad memories. I think crop is to tight. 6

I think the cropping is mabey a little too tight in this one, I feel it needs some space under his chin especially, mabey could have been better too with smaller apparture So that the background would be more blurred and not distract from the subject, I like his expression there is a lot of story in his face, good luck :)

Pretty good photo. Crop feels too tight in my opinion. I'd imagine him looking over a cemetary or something similar. Which would've been highly appropriate for your chosen headline. Fairly good headline. (me nitpicking - a newspaper would say WWII not WW2)
