Has anyone ever seen a lioness go through menopause? Apparently it causes them to grow a mane! The kids calling this one a "he" when a docent spoke up and explained that when they received her back from another zoo where she was on loan, she had started going through menopause and grew a beard! She's 18 years old, btw. ROFL! Now I don't feel so bad about the occasional hair on the chin!

Nice one Kelli! I heard the same story and I too felt a bit sad for the lioness. I guess in the wild she would never have lived 18 years.

Wow, I'd never really thought about animals going through menopause, but I suppose it makes sense. She's still beautiful, saggy boobs and all!
