 Taken in September 2009 when I was in the English Lake District with Ecce Signum and Talj. A promising weather forecast got us all up at 5.00 am to find very heavy mist and fog engulfing the lake (Derwentwater). As the morning progressed the sun burned through and we had an idyllic morning of shooting.

Same shoot gave Talj her blue ribbon in the Nine Challenge.

I hope this doesn't score below my average as it really is a personal favourite.

nice finish Sarah! I love the image, but I am a bit torn about the boat. One one hand it gives scale and depth to the scene, on the other hand, it is a bit too literal for this Zenic (:)) image. I probably would've cloned it out... Either way it's good!

I love foggy/misty black and whites. I am going to take one this year (even though landscapes are not my "thing") and frame it. This is inspirational!

Lovely pic and liek th eboat in this as well. for complete abstract artistic type of pic i would love to have seen different comps on just the rock and poles. Could get some relly interesting comps and moods there 7

This is quite the illusion and really interesting! It says far more than the "pretty" shots that will undoubtedly grace the top ranking shots. I can only hope that others see the merit in this shot that I am seeing. :)

The boat really adds a sense of scale, nice job. Would work well as a high key photo too (overexpose it a bit more).

i'd like to see this shot without the boat... in this case would have seemed to be a shot with Kenna style... i like it however...
