I've been playing a lot with slow shutter speeds recently so this week is keeping in theme with that.

I came across this sign while out for a walk in the city. As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted a shot with a bus zooming by. I would rather have had the bus in the inner lane, but for some reason all the buses seemed to be avoiding the bus lane, go figure!

Patience was definitely rewarded. I can see why you would like one in the bus lane itself as would fill frame more with bus zoom but I think the shot as it stands is really good. And with the bus zooming past in the normal lane it and the message it just adds to it.

Your patience paid off, nice motion to go with the sign.

This is a great one. So well seen. I think your PAW would make a good photobook too. It's a super theme.

I like the interplay in this shot. The color contrast, the movement contrast and the road-footpath contrast.

I'm really enjoying your shots so far. It's almost like a Where's Waldo game with reading the message and then looking around to see what fits. The zooming bus is PERFECT for your message lol.

Great contrast between the moving bus and static environment.

What's this, a campaign to put people off being pedestrians?
Good shot of a passive scene portrayed dynamically.

Good perspective, great sense of movement. The advertisement actually stabilizes things.

I kind of like the bus in the outer lane, leaving the space in the middle for contemplation (or whatever). It just seems balanced to me. I'm enjoying your b/w too.

The motion makes this image alive, nice black and white to, it has grit.

Excellent take on your theme. Imagine the humor if a person was standing at the bus stop. Waiting for that on-time train, now speeding by, skipping stops to stay on time by the end of the run. Wonderful scene. I vote for the same scene using a tripod and f/16! BTW, composition is excellent, I like the bus speeding to the bright light.

Yep, it's hand held. I'm finding I can get away with all sorts of slow shutter speeds hand held with my new 14-24 :)

Ran it through topaz clarify and did a USM on the bus stop ad, that was enough to make it look presentable.

this is very nice! apparent daytime does not suggest motion blur, so it comes as a surprise. Also love the deep BW tones.

I love that juxtaposition of the sign with the bus that looks like it is speeding to make sure it wont be late. I actually think the composition is helped by bus not being closer - the separation allows a glimpse of the environment.

Very nice B&W. Perhaps somewhat busy, but I like the contrasts and the moving bus.

Excellent - you created a succinct and pleasing message with this - one I'm betting the bus people might like!

Too awesome! I really like your series of shots so far. You definitely have an eye for the messages and composing them in a way that is fun and gets the point across. Your's is quickly becoming one of my favortie PAW's of 2010.

Great use of slow shutter speed to create the motion blur. You were very patient to wait for the bus to come by to get the shot you wanted!
