The idea for this image came to me while running last Saturday. Prior to September 19th, 2006, I was a cyclist, and triathlete. I developed a neuropathic pain syndrome from compressed nerves exiting my pelvis. Two surgeries later I'm 90% pain free, and can now run, and where clothes! Cycling is off the table. I had a small handful of road and time trial bikes, race wheels, etc, all now reincarnated as a 5D and lenses. My TT bike is in Sweden somewhere. Anyway, my thoughts drifted to cycling while running, and one thing led to another, and I came up with this still life.

I put the cogs (bike gears) in a plastic storage container, filled it with water, arranged the composition, and let it freeze over night. I was looking for some cracked texture, didn't quite freeze in the manner I envisioned, but I think it came our reasonable well.

I like the cycling theme. Freezing the cogs was genius!

Since you can't ride a 5D, I guess you ought to put it to good use, eh? Clever idea. Love the tones as usual. Congrats on the posthumous! You are getting to be a ribbon hog :)

I hear you loud and clear. Right now my bike is resting and waiting for my body to get better.
Great idea. Bikers immediately recognize the hardware!!!!
