Challenge: Portrait Of A Wild Bird (Advanced Editing VII) Camera: Canon EOS-40D Lens: Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Location: S.California Date: Dec 21, 2009 Aperture: f/5.6 ISO: 1250 Shutter: 100 Date Uploaded: Dec 21, 2009 Add photograph to your favorites Add photographer to your favorites	Thanks everyone for your wonderful comments. I was hoping for better than 42nd but it is a personal best so I'm satisified. This was a one shot deal. After I took it this little guy was gone and I never saw him again. I even set out a feeder to entice him back but he never returned....at least when I was looking for him. Must be camera-shy.

I came looking for this one, can't believe it didn't place higher. Should have been top 10 for sure.

I would love to photograph one of these some day. The red background is a wonderful complement to the bird.

Very lyrical. Makes me want to write poetry. Beautiful reds in a pretty composition.

Great capture of a beautiful bird but the colours in background makes this shot for me.

Nice shot for the challenge. Good composition. The Hummer looks just a bit soft to me.

The tomato red background MAKES this shot. I love the bokeh. The flutter of his tail feathers adds to the delight of it. Lovely indeed.

Even better than the other wild hummingbird without feeder. It's a shame there's something red in the BG as the red of the bird gets lost a little..
