 The Japanese version of Smarties.
The pictures on the shells are part of some promotion. I'm not sure how it works, but you can get a picture book if you claim.

interesting to look at the packaging & also the colors of the shells, esp the pink.

Well, it seems American Smarties are sugar pills, but all I know is that Australian (and British)
Smarties are candy-covered chocolate and, in my opinion, superior to M&Ms.

They do look a bit more like M&Ms but Smarties here are candy covered chocolate too, not sugar pills. I like the bright colours.

They look more like M&M's then Smarties. M&M's are candy coated chocolate, smarties are essentially hard sugar pills.

I really like the photo though.
