Midtown Manhattan, view of Rockefeller Center on a foggy night. I was going to enter some version of this in the monthly free study, but couldn't get it together in time (that is, I liked it, but wasn't sure I would still like it after a week of voting).

Post-processing included perspective correction.

Ended up using this as my best of 2009 entry, which is why it currently appears twice in my portfolio (I wanted to keep this version for the comments).

I really get a sense that the building is trying to stop that fog from passing, like it is protecting the unknown.

Very intriguing image. There's something a little eerie about the way part of the building emerges so clearly from the encroaching fog.

WOW .. this has such incredible impact .. what an amazing shot .. love the simplicity and the not quite seen shapes .. should be framed and on a wall .. :)
