I know I'm gonna get slammed on this one but decided to enter it anyways. I wanted it to look Norman Rockwellish...

[Nov. 30th, 2009 11:54:04 AM]

Getting some comments about the focus area. I knew I would. I had some shots with the focus on his face but I loved the look on his face in this one and I didn't get a chance to reshoot so I entered it anyway. I knew I would take a beating but actually I'm getting a much better score than I thought I would.

Came back to read the reason for the focus... I think that you should have put a bottle full of evil looking medicine on the bed sheets just at the focus point. Otherwise, I do understand why you chose the focal point to be other than the boy's face. Just that you need something to actually be in focus... like a bottle.

Ok, I have absolutely no problem with the focus, and I think it's very Norman Rockwellish! I gave it a 7. The look on his face is just perfect!

I think you accomplished your Norman Rockwell processing. When I first opened the photo I thought it looked very similar to a photo I did that I processed to look Norman Rcokwelly. Either we're both way off the mark or we both did well!

I'm glad that images are not contagious. Creative image. I do thing that the focus should have been more on the face and less on the blanked. -6-

Hahahahaha! I´m sure you both had fun doing this...
My only concern is with the focus, because it seems to be on his chest, and not on his face, wich is the point of attention..

Good idea - quite funny. Good luck.
(having gone to all that trouble to set this up it seems a pity you didn't get the camera focused properly on the subject).

i love the concept and coloring of the photo, The blankets seem so in-focus, but his face seems a little out-of-focus. A short DOF with the focus on the face would really make this image pop.

Cute idea. I think a BW conversion would have neutralized all of the opposing colors of the quilt and our eye would rest solely on him and not be confused by the brightness of his covers.

Nice idea and framing. But why is the point of focus somewhere other than on the child's face?

I think the point of focus was a mistake - it would have been a far more compelling entry with the sharpness on the child's face.

funny, but i think the photo needs to be sharper.
