Hello, your shot has been chosen for my Daily 5! This is where I choose 5 shots per day (or close enough) from the Recently Uploaded list that do not yet have comments, and comment on them.
There's a simplicity here that defies the norm, and sets this shot apart. It's the sort of shot where you think, "This should be boring, it's just a plant", but then you find a few minutes have passed, and you're still looking at it, and you can't for the life of you explain, entirely, why. There's a bit of nostalgia, perhaps, with an effect here that invokes magazine photography of the 70s, and transports the mind of one that was a child in such times back there. Whatever it is, it is one of those rare moments when the mundane takes on a persona that transcends, a little bit. |
