Thanks for the kind comments.

This is a sweet dog at a local animal rescue - adoption pending! (not by me, I was just taking pictures for petfinder) His name is Bear.

The eye thing wasn't planned, just found it and cropped like mad.
That's posthumous in the reflection.

Whole doggie:

I loved this photo! Is taking photos for pet finders something you do on a regular basis for them? Bear is just beautiful I hope she's been adopted!

Absolutely amazing. Takes focusing on the eyes to a whole new level. I gave this a 10 and believe it should have placed higher.

I elected to use a rating table to decide on what value to assign during voting.
Here’s the table:
1 No Animal/People Interaction
2 Slightly Appealing, but no Animal/People Interaction
3 Moderately Appealing, but on Animal/People Interaction
4 Greatly Appealing, but no Animal/People interaction
5 Not Appealing, but possessing Animal/People Interaction
6 Slightly Appealing and possessing Animal/People Interaction
7 Moderately Appealing and possessing Animal/People Interaction
8 Greatly Appealing and possessing Animal People Interaction
9 Better than #8, and caused an audible sigh
10 Better than #9, and would likely declare it a favorite

This is a fantastic shot, and is my hope for a blue. The way you show the interaction via the reflection in the eye is especially clever - it demonstrates a certain obediance and devotion in the dog - the way it's eyes seem so utterly fixed on the person. I'll admit that I'm biased being a huge fan of dogs, but even so this shot stands out above the other dog photo's I've looked at from this challenge.

excellent way of getting the human in the photo!

Lighting's a little harsh, but very clever concept! It might be nice if the human reflection was a little bigger, but I'm sure this was an extremely difficult shot to get anyway.

I know what you were going for, but I needed more "action" in the interaction for this challenge...

Perfectly done! The dog's intent expression and the crystal-clear reflection of the person tells a wonderful story.

great idea, although i wish the photographers reflection filled more of the pupil.

Emotive and expectant. Human reflection in the eye is very well done. A bit too much brightness in PP.

Nice job of capturing the person reflected in the eye, hunting maybe? It's tough to tell at this size. good depth of field as well. Dog looks very attentive.
