I did say I was going to honour all my pets ever, so here is Cindy, the only horse I've ever owned, and me.
The first things I bought after I started working were my horse, all her gear, and my first SLR camera, a Fujica.
The original (43 year-old slide) was terrible (more terrible!) Shot towards the light it was almost a silhouette, and when I brought up the light and contrast it was full of horrible noise. So I greyscaled it, neat imaged it, and filter gallery rough pastelled it, did a bit of dodge and burn, and at least now it isn't a bad shot of Cindy.

Really nicely done. Wonderful slashes of light, the unbearable lightness of memory.

this is fantastic marion .. i just love so much the processing you've done on this .. cindy is a beautiful horse ..
also loved reading about how this horse and the camera were the first things you bought when you started working .. i was mad about horses from a very young age and used to ride them on my step-father's property from when i was about 10 to 17 .. we used to go up to the farm, which was at orange in nsw most weekends .. he had cattle and sheep and used to grow some crops .. but i loved going there and riding the stock horses & rounding up the cattle or sheep .. i remember even doing it in the snow .. even after a warm bath i still couldnt feel my fingers .. as soon as we got to the farm, if it wasnt night time, off i'd go and catch me a horse and go riding .. loved taking pics too .. lol .. so i can totally understand your love of the horse .. this pic really shows that too .. its like a painting .. WOW . !!
