for the october 09 - let's see your pets side challenge

after some quality time with the bird katee went for a walk on the firetrail ..
wot a life ..!!

for dave fldave ..
a shadow/highlight layer .. then a gaussian blur which i lessened the opacity on and sharpened ..
doing the gaussian blur and then sharpening gives a lovely soft result without being too soft .. also you can mask off bits you want to keep very sharp ..
if you want to try it play around with the % in the gaussian blur window coz the result will depend on the image size .. also the opacity will depend on the photograph and how soft you want it to be .. different for different subjects .. :)

this is super cool - the processing really gives this rather 'normal' image great life - digging for treasures is a treasure

What a photogenic dog she is. I love the processing, although not sure if it is Topaz or HDR?

Looks like she' having a great time, and she's probably quick enough and alert enough to avoid getting bitten. Roch won't take Tisa into the bush after the snakes come alive, which is a crying shame coz before that the weather is usually crap. My brother, who lives on a bush acreage, lost his Irish setter (one we bred) to snakebite, but he's had other dogs and cats that have survived their environment.

Very intense focus she's got there. This one feels very 3D; great perspective.
