 These are the dogs of my teenage years, Charlie, in the foreground, and Kelly. Kelly in particular has remained in my heart as a favourite. He came as a stray and was a very intelligent and loyal dog with loads of character. I intended to take him after I married but he died only a couple of weeks after my wedding. Charlie lived for about 17 years and went with my younger brother after he married.
I took this photo- a slide- over forty years ago. The dogs are atop a mullock heap - a leftover from the goldmining past. They used to dot the landscape around Sebastopol where I lived, but they have all been bulldozed and built over now.

they look so relaxed and comfortable - having a good time out in the country

its a brilliant shot marion .. they both look so happy and healthy .. its such a great quality image that's its hard to believe that these two are long gone ..
