This is a shot of my cat Ricky, aka "The Boss" just chillin' and keeping it "low key" (i know, a little corny) I love his classic look and he is often a favorite to shoot

Hope this does not discourage you. Doesn't take away from your excellent image.
This happens to all of use at one time or another. Just have to be a little careful with the rules and the interpretation. If you are unsure , just ask in the forums.

it is a bummer that this got the DQ, I think the cats name had something to do with it... If you spelled it with an i instead of the y they would have prob dq'd it last week. . Ofcourse I am kidding. anyway it is a very cool photo.

How does a tie work? You have the same amount of votes and the same exact score yet you got 4th?

My fave of the challenge. May want to have SC look into your score as it is the same as 3rd place. Depending on how far out the numbers are the same you may be eligible for a yellow ribbon as well. They have done it before.

This is my favorite of the cat shots. The detail in the eyes is amazing. 9

I guess I'm not seeing it, but the background doesn't distract me like some have mentioned. I think the waves set a contrast to the roundness of his face, making it subtly noticeable, low key if you will ;). I love this picture and I want that cat!

Also, whoever said "boss" I think I see what you mean!

This is an awesome shot, but the background takes away from the presentation... you should make sure to have a solid black background... I can see a wrinkly cloth and it's a tad distracting... try to put the background further from the cat that it won't catch the light as much making it darker...playing with the mid tones in the levels adjustment can also help eliminate that background a bit too...

I hate pet photo's for public consumption, and I score most of them low as they are generally OOF, blurred or boring, but this is just magnificent, especially the whiskers........

There were several cat portraits in this challenge, and IMO this one is far and away the best of that bunch.

Neat subject and composition. The background on left competes for some of my attention.
