This is Svala Jónsdóttir. My wife Henný did the makeup. All three of us didn´t feel like we were finished with the makeup and the look we did in another shoot so we got together a couple of weeks later and did similar makeup and hair and took some more shots in the studio. I especially like her expression/gaze in this one.
Two striplight softboxes aimed at her from behind, one big softbox behind me and a honeycomb with a grid pointed at the backround.
Oh and for the record, I am far from a fan of smoking, I really hate it but I think it looks cool in photographs so that's that. If that means you hate smoking so much you give any shot with a cigarette a 1, I kind of agree with you.

yeah - that's a major thing for me though. looks fake, OP'd and to be honest - terrible IMO.

What are you talking about? I didn´t touch her skintones in post processing so PP has nothing to do with it, as a matter of fact, this shot is almost basic editing legal, with the only exception a tiny blemish that I removed from her left cheek.
OOOps my bad! Sorry! you never know if its natural or not if you don't see the original.

Brilliant work on the lighting. Very professional. I wish I can get this better on lighting. Great expressions from the model. Good pose and nice makeover. Marking this favorite and giving a 9. Why 9? The smoke in front of her lips is bothering a bit..
Bumping this to 10. Not because I see some "Larus" in this :). After attempting to take some portraits with my son using off-camera flash, I realized how much efforts and expertise it takes to get this quality of lighting. So why this 10. Great work.
It should not really have anything to do with your photo, which is very good, but the cigarette actually takes away from the model's attractiveness and desirability for me.
Smokin Hot is right!! Nice lighting, great model, perfect look. The skin on her torso is not processed the same as her face. Its a minor thing but still noticeable for me. 9
