for the september macro side challenge

noticed this grasshopper when i was walking the dogs on the firetrail today ..
he was trying to hide behind the gum leaf .. first on one side and then on the other .. the leaf is great camouflage but not a great hiding place .. !!

used kenko 36mm extension tube ..
this is one of the originals .

he's on this page for sure but i dont have time to find him right now .. he's probably a gumleaf grasshopper of some sort ..

on the same walk ..

He looks very much aged and worn as if he is a very old stone. How interesting the textures are on him, that means it must be a great macro as I can see them!

I prefer your more photo-realistic photos to your grainy-artistic shots. This is just of course my personal preference. This shot is SOOO AWESOME!

you get good dof with your macros. What aperture do you use?

Great shot - he looks like he's holding that leaf, almost like a shield. Why not just hop/fly away, I wonder?
