I believe that is a mayfly. And very well focused one at that. Of course they probably are a different variety then on this side of the globe. |

lol .. i was looking at your insect and wondering if he was a bee after seeing your title and then i read your comment ..
like i'm the expert .. NOT .. !!
but i got onto a site last year .. its this australian guy who has taken a gazillion photographs of insects and cataloged them .. some he doesnt know what they are so he'll say they're unknown, but mostly he'll have an idea of the genus/species or whatever its called to which the insect belongs ..
anyway .. here's a page on the site .. life unseen i've got a feeling your little guy is an australian leafroller fly .. but i could be completely wrong .. none of his examples of leafroller flies are exactly like yours .. but he does have a fly type face with those eyes etc ..
its a great shot marion .. love how he seems to be climbing that great big plant to get to the middle .. puffed out .. !!:)..
