New butterfly for me! Was on my out of a park when I saw this guy in a patch of sun in the woods, looking brilliantly blue. Would have cropped tighter except that what I enjoyed about the moment was how he stood out from his surroundings, so here you have what I saw ;-)

PP - converted from RAW, white balance, cropped a bit, increased contrast, resized, sharpened.

This is a beautiful butterfly that I haven't seen myself. I agree with others on the crop/getting closer, but I understand that we have to take these shots when given the opportunity so its not always possible :)

I love the color and light of this shot.
My biggest frustration in wildlife shooting is getting close enough, imho, i wish I were a bit closer to it, maybe not a macro, I do like the log.... just maybe a little less of it and a little more of the butterfly : )

Thank you for showing the butterfly as seen through your eyes... I can't tell one from the other but enjoy the colors and the lazy way thy flutter about. Nice find Mary

Beautiful butterfly. I would crop it to get rid of the grass in the foreground.
