 for the august snapshots side challenge

i said the other day that the girls were expecting and i was hoping there wouldnt be any problems ..

the first calf was born this afternoon, probably an hour or two before i took this shot ..
the cow is eating the afterbirth ...

she had gone off to have the calf by herself but when the other cows noticed the new calf they all came up to see her .. its a girl, which is lucky .. males dont fair so well ..

Gosh, that must be very soon after birth. Fancy being able to stand up so quickly. The calf is adorable.
