We're on vacation this week in Oregon. So far on our coastal part of our trip, it has been so foggy -- but I absolutely LOVE fog and its effect on photography -- and I can not believe how beautiful it is here. I am totally in love :)

After Return Home: Gasp!!! OMG. . .this is HORRIBLE!!!!! I'm so embarrassed! I promise: This photo looks really good on my hubby's brand new -- obviously unproven laptop. I will NEEEEEEVER do that again! If I don't edit a picture on my calibrated monitor at home, its not going in! At present this is scoring 5.3 -- and I actually think that is a kind score for this awful thing.

hey sandy .. just came visiting and clicked on this awesome photograph .... its totally beautiful .. it looks fine on my pc but i like the darkness and the really rich orange/red of the sand .. its like a surfer has come out'v the water at the end of the day as darkness approaches .. the water on the sand with the the ripple effect is awesome, like a painting .. the mist in the background is gorgeous ...
i had a similar experience, finding my laptop was totally different to my pc .. a fly in the three techniques challenge .. but it was a sharpness thing as well as the colour .. i calibrated the monitor and the difference in the colours was huge .. when i processed something on the laptop before calibration and then saw it on the pc the image which looked perfect on the laptop had heaps more yellow in the same image on the pc .. anyway .. another learning experience ..
hugs to you my friend .. :)xx

This is spectacular.... minus the monitor thing :) I remember seeing a forum post about this image, but didn't know that it was you! Looks like you worked the fog really nicely. I have to laugh when you talk about not getting "mm767cap" type quality images and then I look at your scores. I've got exactly 1 image above a 7, and that was barely. Then I look at YOUR portfolio!!!!! :) Beautiful work as always.

Beautiful and strikingly tranquil nature scene. I like how the solitary surfer is dwarfed by the beauty of his surroundings.
