 My cousin Krystal's 21st birthday party. I did crop this one because someone stepped into the frame as I clicked the shutter and was just a large white blob.

I made the cake. She called me the night before and asked if I could (I'm the baker in the family). I said sure what kind (meaning chocolate, vanilla, carrot, etc.), she said Batman! I cracked up. Usually I do elaborate designs for the kids, and that's what she wanted. But, it wasn't enough notice to design one so she got the bat signal.

She's surrounded by cute half-naked guys on her birthday... :-) Nice of you to make the cake! And yes, Pooh adds that extra something!

Little known fact: Prior to Robin, Pooh did a short stint as Batman's sidekick.

wow kelli you're very versatile .. maker of cakes and maker of great photographs and maker of great photographs of cakes .!!!.. my daughter is turning 21 on the 1st dec this year .. i wont be making her a cake .. !! .. i'm not as versatile as you .. love the batman on the cake and the great shot and processing .. she really doesnt look 21 tho .. more like 16 .. :)

Do you sing the normal birthday song? In my family, there are a couple of us that always sing the monkey version. In fact, I expect it for my birthday. I learned it from my dad.

You live in a zoo
You look like a monkey
and you smell like one too!

My mother in law used to glare at me for singing it that way, but she finally gave up.

This is a very engaging and dynamic scene because there are so many different things going on. It looks like it's about the middle of the "light the candles" part of the event. The younger kids seem to always be pretty excited about birthday cakes, and esp when it is time to mix them with fire LOL .
