Needs to be in better focus. The yellow background is a nice touch. With a subject as generic and over-photographed as a flower you really need some unique perspective or way of presenting it that will make it unique and special. The framing and angle and composition here don't make it start apart, so you need to take a more creative approach. 1 wingy

Very pretty, but focus could be improved. Good luck in the challenge. Grayce :-)

I like the background color, how shot was set up etc.. However, when I think of macro/close-up, I think of crisp, detailed pics.

Cute little flower. Would need more focus. Also this shot needs more lighting ... you can use a brighter light source or brighten it up using Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop (I had to do this for my Technology entry). Jacko.

Soft Focus? 6 Swash

Much too soft and out of focus. Good crop job. Different background might have helped some. Picture overall looks "dull". This has potential and much that could have been done with it.

A bit out of focus. More frontal lighting may have helped that some and brought out your colors as well. DPz

I am sure you've heard this a bunch, but it lacks focus.
I like the framing/color combination.

No macro function on the camera huh? I will give you the benefit of the doubt and give you a 5 for nice composition and colours.

a little out of focus .. nice shot otherwise - 5

Pretty color, but not at all in focus. Nice composition, though. Perhaps some better lighting would have helped your camera focus and brightened the scene a bit.

Nice composition but looks a bit out of focus to me.

I want SOME part of the picture in sharp focus, or some rationale given for it not being so...
11/11/2002 10:13:00 PM
Doesn't appear to be in focus
11/11/2002 08:54:00 PM
Focus is off, a little more contrast with the background and a touch of light on the front of the flower may also help.

Don't like the lighting on this.

Nice subject, but the picture seems out of focus. Vote 4 Sonifo

That's kind of a sad looking daisy. :-) I'm not sure if I like the monochromaticness of this shot or not. I think it seems a little faded and dull. 4 kathleenm

Very pretty but the focus is too soft.

Very out of focus, and a yellow flower head on a yellow background waqsn't such aq good idea
11/11/2002 03:59:00 AM
Horribly soft
11/11/2002 03:12:00 AM
Seems out of focus. Maybe you were to close??
11/11/2002 02:01:00 AM
Too bad out of focus
11/11/2002 01:54:00 AM
Focus is just a tad soft for my personal taste, however, I think that the lighting and color is great. The angle and framing/cropping are good as well. A great background for the flower, matches well with the center. Quite pretty. Good luck in the challenge. ~Hbunch7187~

The lack of focus really takes away from this picture. Otherwise, it would have been a very good photo. I'm assuming that you didn't have a Macro setting on your camera. A trick that I learned from this site is to use a magnifying glass in front of your lens to get close-ups to focus better. Your choice of a yellow background was well suited for the flower.

This could have been done better. Haven't we seen enough flowers?
