LOL ... i've been commenting on so many photos that they don't give me a sense of scale and that i'll just have to take their word for it ... unless you have a really HUGE ruler you DEFINITELY have a macro shot here. good idea.
challenge -- met
technical -- some glare on the ruler (and the figurine, too, but there's it's acceptable IMO), maybe angling the ruler sligthly differently could eliminate that for you. overall, slightly soft image.
composition -- good. another idea would've been to get more reflection into the shot because you have such a nice shiny black background to work with, but that would be a different photo ....

| I understand why you have the ruler in the shot, but in my opinion, it takes away from the overall composition. It may have caused your focus to be a little less sharp too, cause it looks like the camera was trying to focus on the ruler instead fo the little statue. karmat |

| focus is very poor...don't try to save your shot by telling us how big it is...simply make a nice photo, and let us judge if it's a macro or not... |

| The ruler background is too shiny, and not needed, plus it takes the focus off what you really want the veiwer to look at. A tighter shot of the subject, and a different angle would probably have improved it. And focus. Focus is a good thing. |

| Very good idea putting the ruler behind to show the size. Very good. Very clear and super cropping job. A little soft on the figurine but overall good. a solid 8. PTL |

| Not sure what the purpose of the ruler was other than maybe proving that your subject is indeed small. No need here and the ruler really distracts from the photo. Also, I assume that your statue is the subject, but it's the ruler that is in focus and even it is lopsided. Lots of glare on the right. |

| I am assuming that the ruler is there to show the small size of the "statue". I would have much preferred to see the focus be on the statue, emphasizing IT as the subject instead of the ruler. lhall |

| Yup, that's pretty small. Maybe use a tripod or set the camera on a fixed object in the future, so you can use a less harsh light source and a longer exposure. Nice job. Jacko |

| Too much flash and low dof. Would have been a nicer shot if the character at the front were more in focus and with more contrast. |

| Lighting is too harsh off of the ruler. The statue isn't quite in focus. Composition is not that interesting to the eye. Maybe raising the camera to look down at the statue and having the ruler laying flat on the table would give you a more interesting shot. |
