This tunnel spider has made a home near our side door entrance. It's been fun walking by and checking out the activity pretty much everyday. Then the "Tunnel" challenge came up...I was going to take a drive over the weekend to a spot I know, then figured what the heck - let's see what we can get out of this fella. :-)

Most likely will be two camps and voting groups on this one - the DNMCr's will zap it and the Artistics will bring it back up (I hope!). Only time will tell.

Just wish I could make a comment that itself had so perfect a DOF. This is so there!

Also thought, and hoped, this would rate a lot higher. I gave it a 9 and gave it a ribbon. Can't believe people can't see the tunnel. IT'S RIGHT THERE BEHIND THE SCARY SPIDER!!!

I can't believe this is 27th. The only clue is the one comment asking where the tunnel is. Were there really that many people who had never seen a spider in his tunnel? I thought this was pretty DPC solid and that both sides would like it. Guess I was wrong.

It was my pleasure to have been one of your "Artistic" fans, heh.

Actually, this is one of the most underrated pics I have seen on dpc for a while...

Perfect entry for the challenge. I'm not a huge fan of spiders, but these guys are fascinating and you got a GREAT shot of him. Nice work!

You have made the right decision to go down the monochrome route with this picture. The textures are lovely and the small depth of field enhances the menace of the spider.

I haven't even looked through half a page of entries, and I can tell you already this should be on the front page next week. Yikes!
