The lighting looks a bit harsh on this shot. The flash glare on the can and the overexposed white on the cat's face detract from the picture in my opinion.

The image doesn't clearly convey "waiting."

Maybe try to cover your flash with some tissue paper, plastic lid to keep the glare down. Sweet kitty.
