I'm taking an abstract tangent of "Life and Death". I've always been facinated with the truth and decision of Ignorant and Happy or Aware and Challenged. The moment knowledge is bestowed upon you, life in paradise is no longer possible.

So, my friends John and Mandy volunteered to pose nude for this "Adam and Eve" style photo. I had a feeling that Mandy was all for it... kinda suprised that John agreed. But, Mandy is his girl and he likes to make her happy.

The location was in a semi-isolated corperate park, under an Evergreen with a thick umbrella canopy, surrounding the entire base. Keeping us hidden from anyone who might happen to come along (ironicly, a car did pass by just as we finished)

For the photo itself, I adjusted the levels and saturation to create a more natural skin-tone (I really need to practice using the apeture and shutter settings more often). I think the only other thing I would like to change is to eliminate the glare on Mandy's right breast. I suppose I should have seen that as I took the photo... but I didn't want to keep them in their b-day suits all day. So, sadly, it is the result of my rushing to get through all the poses.

Greetings from Andi via the Critique Club

First Impression: Kudos to John and Mandy for doing what you asked Richard! Sadly (for me) things start to go downhill from there.

Composition: I feel John and Mandy are too central in the image and probably more importantly you didn't need to show so much of the lower regions and if John's left hand was a little higher on the waist you would have a less compromising image.

Subject: The idea of Adam and Eve was a good one with Adam taking the bite however, I don't think the final image gives that idea justice.

Technical:Focus should be sharper on your models and on my monitor Mandy's hair has no detail. They have different skin tones but neither seem to fit the scene you are tring to depict (or my idea of Adam and Eve). The overexposed background is a little distracting and you already mentioned the overexposed area on Mandy's left (not right) breast.

Final thoughts: A tough subject to shoot and sadly (for me) it was a good idea let douwn mainly by technicals and composition. Again, go John and Mandy for agreeing to this!

Oops, you got hammered. My first impression, however, was How sweet.

this is just all wrong.

Good concept. I like the expression on their faces.
Technically, the levels seem off a bit to me (darks are to dark) and overall not as sharp as I'd like. :)

I would never have imagined Adam with a farmer's tan ... unappetizing overall.

Not bad I guess. I didn't like it and then I kinda did. I think the nudity part bothers me. A crop of their heads may have been a more subtle message regarding life and death. But that would be my taste and not yours.

Adam has one heck of a farmer's tan!

Chicks...Nothing but trouble.

The idea made me smile, and I like how she looks at him, but technically there is a lot of room for improvement (colors, focus, crop).

Fot this pic to have worked better you needed the woman to have had guilt written all over her face and the man scared and unsure. having them standing in the midst of leaves/trees covering essentials would have given the message strong enough without the obvious nudity now presented here, making the pic more pleasing for viewers like me. Very good idea mind you.

Unfortunately, the only thing that made this interesting for me was the nudity. The color doesn't pop and the composition isn't great.

I know it is only because of them that this is wrong to most... but I would like to say that maybe a lil bit of a warning on it would be nice since we do have some children on here that enter and vote. But creative!
