This is a few minutes before the full extent of the solar eclipse visible in the part of Okinawa I was in. The full eclipse in Japan was supposed to be visible on other islands between Okinawa and Kyushu - but they had heavy cloud and rain, so they just experienced darkness for a while.
There was cloud cover for us, too, but it was only thin, so the eclipse was easily visible through the viewing glasses provided by the hotel.
Processed using levels so that the glare was reduced (see ).
