Greetings from Andi via the Critique Club

First Impression: An ok shot of a seagull, the thing that grabs me most is the weathered table.

Composition: I think a slightly wider view with the seagull further to the left and showing a little more of the sea would have worked better

Subject: DPC prefer extremes with challenges like this and you are only slightly above the main subject so that would have hurt you in the voting. If voters had spent a little more time they would have taken in the background and the fact you were way above that.

Technical: The backgound has a pleasing blur and the seagull is well seperated from it. Even on my slightly dark monitor the seagull is a little overexposed, the focus/exposure is best on the table.

Final thoughts: An ok shot of a seagull at the beach, it has no WOW factor but worth more than a 4.8 ommho.

You got a good set-up there and a willing subject too. Nice job.

"Photograph any subject from a vantage point above it."

I feel like I am basically at the same level as the subject... *sigh* DNMC, in my opinion... I'm sorry.
