Shame as I really liked this take on the challenge.

Thanks. This is actually a real P-51 flying. I just had to do a really tight crop in order to get the "Spam" art to show. Check out my Flickr stream for more shots. www.flickr.com/leaky_tiki

Judging from the other comments, I am one of the few to have heard that nickname for the P-51. I applaud you for entering this, nonetheless. Good out of the box thinking.

Nice plane shot. The SPAM can is a bit difficult to see. Who would've guessed this as an entry? Nice blue in the sky, and white puffy clouds.

A unique approach, but I'm afraid that not many people will know that is what the P-51 was called. At least it has a Spam emblem on the cowling. That will help.

It's insulting to this aircraft to call it a spam can. You must be thinking of the

Now who would paint that on the nose of a p51?!? ;) Interesting shot. I like the motion blur of the prop.

A nice in flight picture, although I never would have figured out the nose art without the photo caption.

I had to look hard to find the SPAM on the side of the plane.
